Default Which Rockford amp will go to a stable 1.2 ohm load?

I want to run 3 HE's in a series. I think it will be at around 1.2 ohms. I know a Sony 1200watt class D amp will push them. Will a bd500.1? Thanks

i don't know if u can get 1.2 ohm load on series, but on parallel, u could depending on what ohm ur subs are.

If i remember correctly, HE's are single voice coils(4 or 8 ohms) so for

4 ohms 1/(1/4+1/4+1/4) = 1.333 ohms

8 ohms 1/(1/8+1/8+1/8) = 2.667 ohms

so depending on your ohms on the subs, if it were 8 ohms each, then the bd500.1 will work, because it is stable at 2 ohms.

if yours are 4 ohms then i'd consider getting a 1ohm stable amp like JL i think they make a 500.1

i hope this helps

u need to find an older rf amp, from like 98, they could handle 1 ohm, and they were NASTY, tons of power and way under rated
