94 Accord shaking at idle...where is the idle screw???
Well I did a search and it said turn up the idle screw but I dont know where that is at. Can anyone guide me to it or take a pic of it? Thanks.
BTW it only shakes at idle in D4 when I am not moving. It doesnt shake in neutral at idle. If anyone has any more ideas...tia

after further inspection of your post
id say that theres something wrong with your tranny/slushbox it might be the normal vibration the motor when in gear check your mounts maybe they are wearing thin and now your actually now feeling more of the motor vibrating
anyone?

That's not really idle related. You can adjust your idle up and that might make it alittle better like a band-aid but that's not getting at the heart of the problem.
Your getting harmonic vibrations from somewhere in the drivetrain.

Yeah I was thinking about that...thanks...I'll look into it in a few days and keep this thread updated incase anyone else has similar problems. Peace
Ok the brakes and rotors arent the culprit. I changed the oil today and took off the tires in the front to get a good look at the brakes and rotors and they are fine. The car vibrates when the car is in P or the Ds and the car is at full stop. It does not do this if the car is at full stop in N. Also when I am driving the car and braking towards a full stop the steering wheel is vibrating till I fully stop and then the other vibrating starts heheh. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
ok, on my sis's 91 accord ex it doesn't this also. it's fine in neutral or park, but as soon as you put it into drive and put on the brake the whole car shakes and resonates. It's like the idle drops too low when you put it into gear. This is most noticable in reverse.
Engine mounts sounds like a good idea. Who makes a good poly urathane kit and what all mounts can be changed to help? i don't want to spend a lot of money on it as it's just her regular car, she's not a performence driver.

hey when my car is at idle, the car will shake only when the RPMS drop under 700, then it's fine when it's at 700...What is making the rpm's rise and drop like that?
onecleanride, this is kinda different than that. this shake we are talking about is more of a resonating weird shake and the whole steering column is doing it. My manual accord shakes a little big when the rpms drop low, but on my sis's auto, it's completely different when you put it into gear, it's like subs in teh car making it vibrate.

Give your car a tune-up and use some fuel-injector cleaner in the gas-tank
Something along the same lines as the thread question....
A guy at work has a 94 Accord, he is complaining of a rough idle at start-up. Once the car warms up it is fine. Anything that can remedy this or is it one of those standard wear & tear issues?

J-vin or I-vin?
I-vin's have US made engines mated to Japan-built trannies...
J-vin's have both Japan built engine/tranny and many other different parts...

When i had my '93 accord, did the same thing. It's worser when going reverse. There was a forum where some guy got a new rear motor mount, and fixed the idling issue. It just stopped. On my car, when i rev the motor from the throttle body, i could see the engine tilt back a little, rear mount for sure. Now, on my cousin's '92 accord, his motor holds perfectly still and doesn't vibrate at all.

like what was asked earlier, how hard is it to replace the rear mount? also, is there an aftermarket mount you can buy that would hold up better than factory. If this isn't too expensive it's worth a try on my sis's car to get it from shaking when she puts it in drive.
