old, old gas...can b-12 chemtool get it out?
My 91 crx has been in storage, and I'm about to put a rebuilt engine back in. There is atleast 1/4, maybe more, of 1+ year old gas in the tank. It was suggested to me to pour some of barryman's b-12 chemtool into the tank, and let it dissolve all that varnish. Then, before installing the engine, run the fuel pump and let it push it all out, theoretically cleaning the lines and injectors too. Then just put new gas in. Seems reasonable, right? I was just wondering if I should be concerned about any non-metal parts, like in the fuel pump or injectors? I'd rather do this than pull the tank, which wouldn't do anything for the fuel lines anyways. Any other ideas? Or should this work ok? Thanks.
