#9 in this pic. listed as "stay, RR engine bracket"

I found mine broken. Completely fallen off the mount, and was laying on the crossmember. It doesn't look to be strong enough to have any structural importance, so what does it do? I'm sure honda didn't just put it there for ***** and giggles...

it was broken on your 99 coupe?

it looks like it might transfer pressure and or balance it from the back of the mount to the front and or vice versa.

i cant actually think of that being right but i can come up with anything else so..

On my 97 F22b1 all that piece does is give an attachment point for the primary O2 sensor.

Broken on my 99, but shes hardly a new car anymore, I'm gonna roll over 100k late this week.

it looks like the one end bolts onto the block. there is a hole that it would seem to line up with but no bolt or the broken off end.

edit: I think it would be the #25 bolt

definately not an attachment point for a sensor. there are no wires anywhere near it.

Is it the metal piece on the right side angling down to the right corner?

Nope this goes between the block and the rear motor mount. it's maybe 5inches long at most and never gets more than an inch wide.......no comments from the peanut gallery on that one

Are you sure it doesn't run from the transmission to the mount?

hmmmmm... it might. I'd have to go look at it again in the daylight, but I don't think so.

page 5-5 in my 98-01 accord helms. engine mount bracket.

still have no idea what it does.

In a 98-02 Accord Helms, they call it a stiffener. I agree with you, it doesn't look like it does much. I don't think they put it on the 01-02 models. My best guess is it brace for the rear motor mount bracket to reduce flex. BTW, it does bolt to the trans.

I'm guessing that bracket mounts from the rear engine mount to the tranny...
In my perspective I don't think it has a use but I'd still put it back on there...

HaHa yeah it is. Thats on hondautomotiveparts.com though. followed the links for the motor in my car and it shows that. Oh well, ignore that though. the rest of the pic is correct for a F23

Replace the part?

its probably just for extra support, not essential, but good to have.
