Default V-AFC hi Throtle with Nitrous

I though that I read a thread about this before, though I couldn't find it.

I plan on getting a dry nitrous system in the near future. I have a V-AFC. Would there be a benifit in setting the high throtle position to 95% with a siginfantly higher fuel increase thoughout that setting. Since when I would run the nitrous I would be a full throtle and normal driving would then just be on the low throtle fuel curve. I would spend a good amount of time on the dyno to get the settings right.

Most nitrous systems that I've looked at are supposed to keep the system from running too lean on fuel, though wouldn't tuning the hi throtle setting with the nitrous be better?

Around what % should the low throtle position be at then?

Basically what I want to know is if any of you guys have done that or think it is a good idea?

Yes that would be a great way to tune a VAFC for nitrous.

You need to set the low at 1% lower than the high otherwise the VAFC interpolates between the two fuel settings.

I dont want the VAFC guessing what my fuel needs are so I dont vary them by more than 1%.

What do you have your high and low throtle settings at?

The dyno tuner set mine at 40% and 60%. The dyno technicians that I've come across don't seem to know what their doing.

actually my car ran ungodly rich with the ZEX kit.

i tuned the fuel down 5% across the board and got 20 ft/lbs or torque and 14 hp

I was running very lean when i was spraying nitrous, but i added a walbro 255lph fuel pump and a aeromotive fpr which upped my fuel pressure so i'm not running so lean anymore. I'm running 75 shot zex but will be upgraded to a NX wet kit later down the road.

What kind of nitrous are you running. Most dry systems compensate for added fuel needs. Brian, you were running rich with a 55 shot of ZEX?

yeah. the a/f ratio was about 10:1 when i was spraying. No fuel mods other than the zex purple box guy.

with the SAFC lovin i got it up to a low 13:1/high 12:1 ratio.
