Reverse Wiring...
I've already posted this question before, but didn't have much luck. here is the situation....any help would be greatly apprciated.
I bought my 94 accord coupe in March of this year. The stereo was working fine but then one day...after a hard brake...the stereo sort of came out of the console. you see, the person that i bought the car from...decided to save $20 and not get a mounting kit. so it was basically just sitting in the slot of the console. and he also felt the need to chop up all the wires for the stereo coming FROM the car...and twist-tie them with the wires coming from the stereo. soo when i went back to twist-tie them for the time being until i could go get harnesses..i think one of the wires touched the ground wire and there was a spark. from then on...the stereo didn't work. i bought a new HU and it would arrive tomorow or monday. can somone help me do reverse wiring? so that i won't have to hardwire again if i ever decide to change HU's? and another thing...do you think that the wires coming from the car might be messed up due to that spark? i tried to twist-tie the wires again for the old HU but it didn't work. any help would be appriciated thanks

and can someone tell me where the fuse for the stereo is? i checked the fuse that goes INTO the HU but it was fine. is the fuse for the stereo under the hood or on the driver side next to the pedals? thanks

there is a fuse for the radio in the fuse box at the drivers side kick panel and there is another one in the fuse box in the engine bay. I think the same exact thing happend to my friends accord. It didnt blow the fuse at the kick panel but it did blow the one in the engine bay
i checked all the ones in the engine bay...but my foot rest is keeping me from checking the ones on the driver side. i'm going to go check in a little bit. i'll let you know. thanks
THere is 1 fuse under hood and 1 under dash. Metra makes both wire harnesses, the 71-1720 is basically the factory plug, and the 70-1720 is the one that plugs into that one and goes to the new HU. Is that what you mean?
do you have a multimeter or a test light? use it on the wires behind the deck to see if it is your 12v constant, 12v accessory, or your ground. is your dome light working ? if not replace that fuse and see what happens. good luck!
