What can cause tranny to pop out of gear by itself????

What can cause tranny to pop out of gear by itself????

I have a 96 HX with 63,000 miles on it... It's been 1300 miles since I changed my clutch and axles... I punched it on 1st the other day for the first time and it came out gear at around 6k rpms.... It hasnt happened again, but what could have caused this????

It might not have been in gear all the way.

If there is too much movement in the motor it can pull it outta gear with a load on it, but that doesnt sound like your situation!

This happend to me before, not sure if it's the same but mine wouldn't stay in fifth gear. The problem was cracked tranny. Hope this isn't the samething. Good Luck, hope it's not what I said.
