Default Having some problems with my B18c5, ecu, fuel pressure, injectors?

Here is the story, i just recently swapped a b18c5 into my si, and i'm having a starting problem with my p28 ecu. The swap is kinda ghetto rigged right now, i'm running my old si injectors with the si fuel rail (don't ask ). We'll, with my old si ecu, the car would always start up without a problem, but vtec would suck because of the fuel settings and timing i guess. Yesterday i put in a reprogrammed p28 by kenji in, and now the car has a hard time starting. It may take 2 or 3 tries, then once its on, the car runs fine. It also runs much better daily driving and going into vtec. So other than starting up, the car runs great. Anyone know what could be causing this? When it starts up, the car makes some scary noises too, its hard to descibe, but it definatly doesn't sound right. I don't want to put my si ecu back in because the car runs like chit with it.

Have you checked your ignition timing or anything that may be wrong with the distributor perhaps? I honestly don't know what could be causing the start up problem but those are just a few suggestions to check out...good luck

Timing was set for the si ecu, but when i put the p28 in i havent checked the timing. You think that could be it?

Hmmm.. interesting, my car idles the same way, kinda funny, i thought i had my old toda b idle back . hehe. But i don't mind the funny idle, its the car starting up, that is pissing me off. Could it be my ecu? or the fact that im running with si injectors, fpr, and fuel rail?

What about the si injectors and fuel rail, could that be the problem? I think that might be the key.

The hunting idle in the thread you were referred to is normal when using kenji's p28 with a b18c5. You can unplug the evap solenoid if you want to eliminate the odd idle.

If it is starting up crappy or not at all, I'd suspect something else is wrong besides the p28's different evap system.

Yeah, that is what i was wondering. But with the si ecu, car would start up fine, no problems at all. Do you think that there is a conflict with my p28 ecu and the injectors? Thanks for the help guys!

very well may be, i believe Kenji's ECU has a map setup for an ITR's fuel system and it may be having conflict while trying to work with the Si setup
