Car jumps then dies...
Me and a freind just put an ACT street disk and pressure plate on my 90 DX with si tranny and z6 motor. The problem we had to begin with was the car wouldnt move in any gear, and it would go in with no clutch(no clutch engagement), so I bought a new clutch and we put it in. Now the problem is when the car is started and the car is in gear, the car just jumps and stalls. Now I really havnt looked into the problem, cause I am pretty tired, and just posting this for ideas, but what could be the problem? I havnt put oil in the tranny yet, and i checked under the car before i quit and my driver side axle was not all the way in, so tomorrow i am gonna fix both of those. But I dont think these 2 problems have any effect on the car just jumping when started. Thanks for ideas,
It very well could be the oil also. I wouldnt say the axle would cause it to do that but maybe the oil?? Did you replace the throwout bearing?

Alright well i added oil, pushed in the axle, and adjusted the clutch from top to bottom. Now this is what happens..
When I have the car off, the car goes in and out of gear with no problem, but when teh car is running it will nto go in any gears. If you start the car in gear, the car moves as you turn the key, kinda like a direct drive or something. Any ideas? I am probably gonna pull the tranny off tomorrow, but i dont know what could be wrong, I am like 100% sure everything is hooked up right, what could I have done wrong?
The act clutch i got dont say flywheel side or anything, so I put the side on that the stock clutch said flywheel side, so I am pretty sure thats on right, pressure plate can only go on one way, and the throw out bearing is in there good and is new. There is some kind of chatter coming from the clutch area, i am not sure if its the clutch or what.
The problem that made me change the clutch is as I was driving from a stop light the other day, I took off and the car popped outta gear, motor was still on, and the tranny was still fully syncronized.
Now the million dollar question, could the clutch cable be the problem? I mean its still together, but it may not be pulling as strong as it should or something, or is it maybe the tranny bad, or is it something wtih the clutch.

I believe both. But I did have to buy a new clutch. It was installed by some hole in the wall dealership. Regardless, after the clutch was replaced and installed by a professional, it didn't happen again.
