As alot of you already know Vortechs Customer Servive blows. Well this blows even more, My brother has a 00" civic Si, with a Vortech Supercharger. Even from the start we have had nothing but trouble, vorttech claims the kit is the superquiet model, well this charger whines like it is a A trim from the early nineties. Vortech fixed that by rebuilding the charger. The next problem was the blower grenaded itself and there was a 1/8" gap between the impeller blades and the housing, they fixed that by replacing it with a new head unit and a shaft. I figured they were feeling bad for me and they sent me a new blower. Well i get the new Charger yesterday and we had it installed today. The shop which is very reputble in my city. They folowed the directions to the tee, i was there watching every step so i can learn, they get the car finished at 5:00 pm they warmed up the car and the blower to Vortechs specks which are , after the engine has warmed up to operating temps, wait and extra 2-3 mins until blower warms as well, ok no prob, we let it warm , my bro takes it down the block and turns around to come back he went no further than 1/2 mile NO LIE... The blower makes a nasty SCREECH!!! he quickly shut it down and coasted the rest of the way in to the shops driveway, They took off the blowers airfilter assembly and the impeller blades were rolled over and the housing was all shot it looked like you took a grinder to the inside of the housing........ We called Vortech and all he could tell me was send it back and we will take a look at it. Does he understand that they claim this kit is easily street driven. the car has been off the road for a 1 month at a time per incident. The blower has been on and off the car 4 times at $500.00 a shot . that has cost my brother $2000.00 in just labor to fix it.. not including the $1000.00 it cost to install the first time on top of the big money it cost for the fully polished kit including Aftercooler.... I would not recommend this kit to any one because of the length of time for repairs and how they treat their customers,, i have numerous blowers from them, 2 XX trims, 1 X trim, 1 T- trim, 1 -S-trim, 1- A trim, 1- V-5 Gtrim, i wass going to buy a second kit for my integra GSR but i bought a turbo instead . Turbo was a better choice.

 

Well you live and learn I suppose. Wise decision on the turbo by the way.

 

That sucks...all the more reason to learn to turn wrenches.
