Fine tuning a 2000 Civic Si
I currently have a 2000 Civic Si and I am not the most knowledgable person when it comes to all of the fine tuning of the engine. I currently have an HKS Hyper Cat-back exhaust, AEM Cold Air Intake, B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator, Skunk2 Cam Gears will be here in about a week, along with a Skunk2 Short Shifter. I have the timing advanced just slightly and the fuel pressure is currently at 38 at idle. what or some small things that I could do to try to maximize the power for what I currently have done? With the cam gears, what would the best setting be while everything else is stock? I appreciate all the help. Thanx - Justin
are there any other mods that would help out with the set up that i have so far that are relatively inexpensive?>

do performance plugs and wires make a significant difference?> how does the addition of a 4-2-1 ceramic DC header sound?> those were prolly going to be the next additon.

im looking into the skunk2 intake manifold along with the skunk2 stage 1 cams....just have to find the funds for them first. does anyone know where the closest place would be to get my car dyno tested? im in albany, NY thanx
Bump up the fuel pressure as stated above. Cam gears- try intake advanced 2 degrees, exhaust retarded 1 degree. That should give you some gain until you can get it to a dyno tuner.
youv'e probably heard of this site and not to take people away from honda-tech, but try www.clubsi.com and go to their tips and tricks and performance forums.
I have the FPR installed and i am trying to hook up the A/F ratio guage.....i need to hook one of the guage wires into the O2 sensor...there are four wires in my O2 sensor...would anyone happen to know which wire i need to connect to? if i can remember correclty there were 2 black, 1 white, and 1 green....i may be wrong on the colors.....i do know that 2 were the same color and the other 2 were different.
Just wanted to say thanx to everyone that helped.
and just so everyone knows...if you have any ideas or advice my ears are open!!!
thanx again, justin

CTR intake cam , more lift than ITR , ITR exhaust cam, intake manifold only helps really with head work and cams, but it won't hurt. and get a header. the skunk 2 stage 1 cams have very similar specs to the type R cams.also new inner valve springs. and don't get a VTEC controller unless you know what you are doing otherwise you car will just run worse. run stock plugs. if you want wires get some NGKs . they run around $50.

where would i be able to get some literature or know-how on what to do with the VTEC controller? Why would you run stock plugs over after-market?

Just so you know skunk cams are not similar to R cams. They are alot more aggressive..good for 10 plus whp over R cams.
