Is it worth adding this on a honda civic si 99? and what does it actually do?

 

If you are refering to the JDM 4.785 then it is just going to make you gears even tighter... The higher the FD the closer it brings your gears together and vise versa. I really wouldn't add one to your 99 Si because that tranny already has pretty high gears... the FD isn't high it's just the gears are made so... For around the same price I would just look into LSD's Quaife??

 

Well...just as an FYI, the USDM Integra Type R and your Civic Si both have the same 4.400 final drive.

If you have the B16A2, which I suspect with the SC4 or Y21 tranny, then you also have the same gear ratios as the ITR as well.

The JDM Integra Type R has a 4.785 final drive.

If you put the JDM FD in, you're going to like it...

I guarantee it will feel different than stock..

 

I don't believe the gears are the same on the 98+ JDM trannys as the B16a2.
