I have an idea on what it would sound with twice the boost, but which one would it work/sound best on my low 4.5-5psi setup..
HKS SSBOV? Greddy Type S? or Blitz SS?

I still like the greddy type s w/ all levels of boost.

 

i use the TurboXS Type S with only 5 psi of boost. works great and sounds like a stereotypical BOV.

 

Greddy sounds better but hks is better quality but very little sound.

 

I personally have never owned a hks(until now) but several of my friends had them, i didnt like them much, but i will be using one at first (until i can find a drag3 upper charge pipe w/ a greddy flange)

So i'll be fair and not talk bad about the hks until i have it on my car.

Saab OEM bypass valve $20 ghetto-tasticker.

 

I use the Blitz DD BOV. I like it. It is good up to 18psi which most people won't see for a daily driver. It has a nice whoosh sound but isn't obnoxious. No wistle or bird chirps. I also like the Turbo XS Type H and RFL. The RFL is better for higher boost applications IMO.

 

from these files, hks sounds really nice, but would it sound like that on low boost?

i noticed that blitz comes with air filter, does hks have it too?

 

i like the HKS sequential bov, not the super sequential. The sequential one is the plastic one, it has a nice sound to it too...under low and high boost

 

get a bosche BOV from autozone. somebody on here is running one on their homemade boosted R, if you search for it you'll find it easy, i'm just lazy.

 

yep.. i remember that setup.. so far i decided on hks ss, really like that rocket shooting sound.. hope i can capture it under low boost..

 

If you're going to go that route, I'd take a 1g DSM BOV over a Bosche unit any day. They [supposidly] release faster, and hold more boost.
