Okay... I have a few oil questions.. I honestly can't come up with the answers..
Okay, My fiancee just bought her mom's 97 Prelude (She got a great deal, it's her mom, damn she's lucky). Anyway, all regular maintenance was done by her father. She drove it home today. I was poking around, pulled the dipstick, it was umm.. About a quart over the FULL marker.. I'll try to illistrate
0...........0.........| (0's represent the low and full marker, the | is where the oil level was)... Okay, I asked him how often he changed the oil in that car and if this was a freak accident.. "No, I always do that".. The car has 118,000 on it.. Compression tests are near stock.. I can't figure it out.. Doesn't burn oil at all.. I don't get it.. Someone help me understand this.. He stated that he consistently overfilled the pan.. That's like 5 years of this..

You can damage gaskets and oil seals like that, but It shouldn't hurt compression. If it wasn't ever really revved up too much it might not have hurt it.
look under the car and see how much oil it is leaking. If it's dry then just drain some out and don't worry too much...
