should i run coolant lines
I have a b16a2 in a 92 hb with a t3/t4 turbo and so on. I have both oil cooling and water or coolant cooling capabilities on my turbo only the oil is hooked up. Is the coolant that important i've been running it for a few months now. One of my buddies with a sohc ran the coolant lines on his and his engine temp. went sky high. I've heard it can help the turbo's life, but is it worth it to increase the engine temp.?
I don't know about the engine temps getting hotter.......where did your friend run his coolant from????? My temps remained the same after I hooked mine up......I would say it can't hurt.......all it can do is help your turbo....your friends story is a little odd.
It is fine to run without the coolant lines. They are the exact same turbos...just one does have the access to be cooled with water as well. I had the same problem once with the engine temps going up with using the coolant lines on the turbo. It was because the radiator was not capapble. I changed the radiator and it solved the problem. But long story short, you dont need to run them.
