Default b17a into a 89 civic dx

i just got a b17a off of ebay, u might have seen it on there. it was a b17 engine, ys1 tranny, ecu, shift linkage, axles, and wiring harness. i'm so excited. i will probly try and convert my car to OBD1 using the b17 ecu. is this very hard? and what will i need besides what i already have? i won't do the swap myself but i would like to have all the necessary parts to do it.

oh i forgot a few things, the engine has 112,00 miles on it, not that great but it could be worse. and the engine, trany, etc.... was only $1135. i think i got a steal.

This is pretty good for such a rare motor. And 112000 miles is not that high. As for using the P61 ECU, I would. Although the wiring job might take a day or two, it is really not that hard. And you will not have to worry about trying to find a pre-1992 B16A ECU AND distributer, paying a bundle for them, and trying to sell stuff for a rare motor (at a loss, probably). Furthermore, your motor will run better with the proper ECU.

What about motor mounts?
Are you going to replace some stuff, ie. timing belt, water pump, or clutch?

yeah, i need to get a mount kit for it, and i probly will end up replacing the timing belt and water pump.

i am also picking the motor and everything up in person, so if everything doesn't look good, then i just won't get it, simple as that. i am pretty sure everything is legit but u do have to watch out on ebay. i'm not a big fan of ebay either but you can't beat the prices and i couldn't turn this auction down.

you will need a

intergra throttle cable
modify the shift linkage
integra spindles because the axles will not fit in the dx ones
im using hcp mounts
my wiring was converted to obd 1(my mech. said it was a bitch to wire)

I'm almost done with my b17a into 89 std civic swap. I ended up using an obd0 setup. I can't get the roll pin out of donor integra's shift linkage I'm using a 99 JDM Civic TypeR 4-2-1 header, and should have the rest of my 2.25 exhaust done tomorrow. As far as extra hardware like ps pump and a/c, I think it will fit all b-series blocks, anybody know?(I'm still trying to sell my dizzy, ps pump and a/c). I'll let yknow how it is when done. Extra torque on b17 vs 16 should be cool.

I am using my stock crx si throttle, clutch, and speedo cables.

Your mechanic must be an old school domestic guy cause the obd1 conversion is not that bad.
