At a friends house right now... was doing a compression test but....

the part that you screw into the spark plug spot came off when I was unscrewing the hose and now I have no idea how to get it out. Tried screwing the hose back in to the head piece but when I unscrew it, the hose just keeps coming out.

Any idea how to get this out? The only socket size that fits is too big to even fit down that hole.

Need to get this fixed asap cuz I need the car.

 

Have you thought of superglue on the threads? I would say blue locktite but that takes too long. Thats the only thing I can think of.

 

Maybe take the cam cover off, see if you have more room?

 

Try super glue or thread lock.

 

This happen to me and what I did was take a Long screw driver that was thin and stuck it into the small hole.

 

Ahh got it... went to schucks and picked up some really long needle nose pliers.... couldn't grab around it so just put it in and pulled the pliers apart (so they would grab inside the bolt) and twisted.

I think I'm going to take this piece of crap compression tester from Harbor Freight back. Schucks had a really nice one that's all one piece so you don't have to worry about it coming off but it's $30 for regular and $40 for the one with the steel braided hose....

 

I had this exact same thing happen in my engine. We were able to just rescrew the hose onto the spark plug thing and it was enough to loosen the entire unit.
