Where to hook up MAP sensor for ITBs?
Where do you hook up the vacuum line for the MAP sensor on the ITBs manifold? There's two ports for vacuum, but on looks like it's for a purge solenoid and the other looks perhaps to be for MAP... It basically runs right out to the edge of the T/B like on a normal Honda T/B, so I'm assuming that's the one for the MAP sensor... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You don't have 4 ports.... as in one on each runner??? Normally all you gotta do is "T" or "Y" them all together and them bring them to one MAP sensor... I've seen it done other ways with all four lines running into a home made PVC pipe that has been capped off making a little cylinder, with 5 ports.... 4 for the vac... one for the MAP... You get it... Hope you understand... and if for some reason you on have 2 then just bring them together some way... Peace
Wouldn't the variance in the vaccuum pressure cause an idle problem? Say for example on a normal manifold.. If you were to plug the line onto the manifold as oppose to the T/B.. wouldn't that cause the motor to idle differently? Not 100% sure.. just asking..
Well on my friend's race car it idles pretty good... Not really lumpy at all... They have the little PVC cylinder with the vacuum ports... It seems to work really well...
Cool.. Sounds good enough.. PVC canister would be way easier and somewhat cheaper to make than an aluminium one too.. I'll keep that in mind.. Thanx
Yea, they had one that came with the manifold but they were tryin to keep it light and the canister that it came with was huge... Way bigger than it need to be ~(cylindric design 10" tall x 6" in diameter).. The PVC one is about twice as big as the MAP sensor itself.... Here's a pic of their car... It ran an 11.40 but that was with shitty gearing.. My friend Scott, the driver said that he hit it into 4th just as he crossed the 1320 mark... They reworked the tranny now so it should be good for atleast a 11.00... Hopefully high 10's..

You dont use the map sensor.
