Default Question on a whole setup. (please help)

My question is what would be a good setup, speakers, subs, amp, headunit, all of it, for a 99 coupe civic?
I know nothing about car audio, but I know that the factory system isnt any good.

I dont want to spend an insane amount of money on something custom, but I dont want to buy some cheap off-the-wall brands.

I just want something that has some deep bass to it, and sounds nice.

Sorry if this question has been asked thousands of times before, its just when I ask people at the car audio stores they try to rip me off by trying to sell me some lcd screens and amp racks, and all this custom stuff.

Thanks for all the future help

I dont really have a figure, I just dont want to go all custom with lcd's and dvd and all that, with some custom box in my trunk.

And i dont want to buy some no name brands that will end up making it sound worse than the factory system.

Im willing to spend some money, I just dont want anything all custom or wild.

I live in Jacksonville Florida

you cant go wrong with an eclipse head unit. for speakers, try the kenwood excelon components and rear deck. orion blue amps are sufficent. like a orion 200 for the subs and a decent 4 channel for the interior. kicker comp vr 10's for the subs. all in all installed should run you about $1,900 depending on which head unit you get. that is the setup that my bro has in his WRsuX, but his head unit costed him 700. so you can go from there.

I think I know the type of set up your looking for. It is difficult to put into words the exact type of sound that one is looking to achieve.

I may be able to offer you some advice and recommend some items to consider. I'd much rather talk instead of type.
My hours are sporatic (this is finals week) at work but I'm usually there evenings.
Feel free to give me a call in referenece to any of your questions.
