Default Good basic Setup Question

What would be a good basic setup for a guy who wants better quality, and a little louder music, but doesnt want all the added weight of subs and amps and all the extra stuff.

I was thinking a small amp (100 watts +/-) to power some upgraded interior speakers.

I dont know much about what speakers I would need, so I was wondering if anyone here could recommend something for me.

In total, I would like to spend $500 or less to replace all the interior speakers, and buy a decent amp.

I am not an audiophile, nor do I compete in audio competitions, so it doesnt have to be top of the line stuff, but I dont want to accidentally buy some ghetto knock off ****.

Thanks!!!!

sup man. i recently bought some 6 3/4" and 5 1/4" for the door. the rears are 60 watts RMS and the fronts are 50, with the max wattage of 225 and 100 respectively. Man, the rears are NICE, they give pretty good bass, heres the link: (Pioneer TS-D170R)

you can get them for alot cheaper, 90 on ebay cuz crutchfield is expensive as all hell. OH, i got a good autotek amp, 75 watts x 4 channels to power them. overall, i spent about $500 since i dunno how to install speakers, but its worth every penny.

what size speakers does your car take? i suggest some rockford 6x9's in the rear if they fit. try some component speakers. they produce some decent mid range bass. up front id get some components. dont go off and buy an amp till you decide its necessary.
