high rpm hesitation, please help!
well here is the deal. the car is a 97 itr with 54,000 miles. the car begins to hesitate when the vtec kicks in at around 7k. i change my plugs, plug wires, cap, and rotor. i also tool off my cat to see if it was clogged, but it looked pretty clean. i am throwing engine code 67 which is something with the cat operating below threshold, or the secondary o2 sensor. i am looking for any help here or any leads that i can check out. i took the car to acura and they couldnt find anything. any suggestions are welcome and helpful. thanks
If all is well with your ignition system, check your fuel. Often overlooked when diagnosing engine performance problems, contaminated fuel can wreak havoc on your motor.
Check fuel pressure, and also obtain a sample of your fuel in a clear container so that you can inspect it for contamination. We had a Type-R with running problems, and everything checked out o.k. Then we checked fuel pressure and the problem became obvious---the fuel had a soapy white substance in it.

There should be a 12mm bolt on the top of your fuel filter, that is where the Fuel pressure guage hooks up. We use the factory guage from Honda. As for obtaining a sample, that is a two person operation (can be done by one person, but easier with two). Unbolt the fuel line from the fuel filter at the fuel rail. Stick the end of the line in a clean container, wear eye protection by the way, have a helper cycle the key to on , not start and let some fuel pump into your container. Look for anything unusual-debris, dirt etc., and whiff it (don't inhale, it will knock you out). The fuel should be as clean as fuel straight from the gas pump.
not just fuel pressure but flow rate. Also check timing.
