Yeah im planning on a CrVtec or Gsr but we really wanted to know cause i know the Civic Type-R has 185hp but less Tq than the Gsr
Do the GSR. You'll save lots of $ and probably be better off. By the way I'm on LI too
Wanna trade those SHU-4's for some swirlies? Haha ;]

The GSR might get the better launch, but from a roll with a proper driver the B16B will let you accelerate faster.
Pretty close if you ask me. CTR has LSD too. I think the GSR's over there have LSD on some tranny's...
But, the CTR probably has much better acceleration at high rpm's. It'd be a really close race - that's my guess.

Horse power is nice, but torque wins races.
What I'm trying to say is you can't just look at couple of numbers and decide which one's faster, but a dyno graph where you could look at total area underneath the curve should be able to tell you who should theoretically win.
If 2 motors are completely stock, not even bolt-ons, as in factory trim outputing the factory numbers. I think it'll be a really close race.

I like the B16B cuz i like the engine badge but that's it... Send the block out to GE have them sleeve it up to 85mm... Once you get it back drop the GSR/ITR crank and rods into it with some high compression slugs, disassemble the head and send it out to Portflow... Even with CTR cams it should make some pretty good power... Get some injectors and hondata for it and you'll be set... CRVTEC's are cool too but i would rather just have the B18C block sleeved up... Many of you have probably heard of my friend's CRVTEC/EK running a 12.62@107 all motor full interior... Basically what it is, is that CTR head (except ported by Portflow) put ontop of a CRV block bored .50mm over on stock sleeves with stock rods and ARP rod bolts... It's got RC 310's and an ITR ECU w/ VAFC... Here's my other friend's Integra... I kinda talk about it in this post if you get bored and wanna read it... Over the EK's motor it has SK2 stage 2 cams and runs Hondata.. here's the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=346093
i know the Civic Type-R has 185hp but less Tq than the Gsr
depends... with the same tranny attached to both motors at the time of their testing?
Or like an ITR shgort geared tranny on the CTR would make the CTR my choice....
but as everyone stated.. 2.0 liter R buildup is best. TORQUE
