Anyone Running a 88-91 Civic Std in SCCA ITC?
Hmm, I don't have the graphs, but my friends ITC DX was high 80 hp range on a mustang dyno. So i'd imagine with the allowable rules a STD couldn't be to far off. There are other little things I remeber, like from playing with timing (advancing) they found a 3-4 hp in the midrange on the 1.5. Hmm what else, also he was telling me about some ITC racers down south have been taking the 1.5 out to 8200 rpm. Not for power, just so if your goin up a hill and you shift and the motor bogs a little, or tryin to not shift midway though a turn, that sorta stuff. The 8200 rpm has to do with the 1.5 rod/stroke ratio being pretty good, course I don't think he's gonna subject his car to this yet far as i know. I'll see if I can learn anything else about STD's in ITC he knows a few maybe he can hook me up with some info for you. Just to show his car, its actaully MY old street car so i'm fond of it hehe.

And yes in that pic its autocrossing, nothing wrong with that once in awhile

Did he pull all the panels out of the rear seat and hatch area? I thought guys did that on the CRXs but I just read the rules and it doesn't look like it's allowed.
SMSP - WHo can't make up his mind. ITC or H1? Or beater.

yes all the rear panels are gone, but I THINK i know what you mean about the CRXs. Some guy locally has a 1st gen CRX but rules for what he did run about the same. Apparently he pulled the supports from inside the doors or something so its just the skin, and if it gets hit yea that where the roll bar comes up. Apperently what he did was illegal from what everyone has told me. So there is a small limit on what you can take out. As far as my friends hatch he just pulled out all the interior, sound deading where it was easily accessible, roof liner, etc, then stuck the cage in there. Battery is still up front right now, and car is still using the stock fuel tank. I hope that helps a little sorry i'm not that great with the IT rules yet hehe, but if you have any questions keep asking i'll try to do what I can for ya.
BTW, i THINK you can run a ITC car in honda challege pretty easily, their is a rule for them or something actually I read it someplace on NASA's site. So if you wanted you could do both with the car H1 (or whatever NASA declares a ITC car) and ITC.

An 88-91 Std would run in H5, or be bumped to H4 if prepared to ITC rules beyond what is allowed in H5.
As for the interior, the GCR allows for the rear interior panels to be removed. What can be done to the doors is a little more tricky, which is likely why there was some problem with the setup mentioned in the post above.

Thanks, I need to get an 2003 GCR. I only have the 2000 and it looked illegal to remove the rear panels.
