Dyno results..... I am now addicted
Finally finished installing everything and curing all the check engine lights so I took it down to Godspeed in Novi, MI for some dyno and tuning. I'm running stock internals so he said he would tune it conservatively (little more fuel). The a/f was 11.4-11.8 all the way through the band. My plan was to go to 11psi to get upper 200's but 9psi was all it took.
Results: 288.2whp 188.6ft/lb 93 octane 20,000 miles on motor.
I was so pleased with the results. The hp curve is pretty consistent all the way through with no real sporatic jumps or dips. the torque curve on the other hand hits 160 ft/lb at 3300 rpm and then goes up gradually after that. the car is so ******* fast and I am now addicted to turbo. First gear is too crazy its gonna take alot of practice. After 4000rpm the tach just slams to 8000 so fast its almost impossible to shift at the desired rpm. 2nd gear just roars as the turbos already spooled. heres the setup
1997 honda civic dx
1998 b18c1 motor 20,000 miles
t3/to4e turbo
manifold+intercooler that come in max rev kits
hks ssq
tial 38mm
Hondata stage2 w/ chipped p28
rc 550's
Fluidyne radiator w/fAL fan (definetly does its job)
2.5" downpipe 2.5" straight pipe
no cat, resonator, or Apexi N1 muffler (might switch to flowmaster)
ngk8's .024
Brand New OEM Wires
Brand New OEM Distributor and coil
Brand New OEM Cap
couple things i learned....
1. boost IS like crack
2. vtec is irrelevant when boosting (even though i do have it)
3. weight DOES make an enormous difference.
I live in MI and we have the woodward dream cruise every year which goes on for a few weeks. Thousands of muscle cars, compacts, and home made vehicles come to woodward ave to "cruise" up and down. tonight, full of confidence, i smoked a brand new modded s2000 (wasnt even a compitition), a few modded wrx's (piece of cake), a few 04 evos (thought they were fast?), sooo many audis (they weigh 4000 pounds lol). The only car that held its ground was this old camaro ss compeltely worked. The thing just roared from the light all the way through the top of 3rd gear. by the time we shut down we were neck and neck (~85 or 90mph). Anyways I will have a the dyno posted when i get to school so i can use a scanner. lol I finally got my car done today and i leave for school at 4:30am the next day
next summer... upgrade pistons, rods, clutch, and maybe some drag radials for the weekends.

#1 is very true
#2 is not as noticeable as before because u actually making some power also before it kicks
i turned VTEC off on my D series and i can tell a diff on top end with and without VTEC..... i drove it a lil bit without it, and when i turned it back on, HOLY **** it does make a difference.... is the fact that we cant hear it anymore, that makes us think is not there

Re: (Reilly)
i hope the dude at godspeed didn't shut the car right off after every run like he did on my friend's 240sx (380whp), they cracked 3 of his manifolds doing that not trying to give godspeed a bad rep but i think that that should be common sense

Re: (Sideout)
I was there while he was dynoing my car and a guy before me's 400whp integra. He did not shut off the car. I dont know who actually dyno's your car but the guy who owns the place has been dynoing for over 7 years. and yes that would be common sense.

pics are on the link in my signature. I do not have pics with the front bumper on because I had to leave for college the day after I finished the project. Its a wings west avenger front with silver grill in all the slots besides the stock front grill area, intercooler area and intercooler pipes area. It looks pretty mean.

That is totally true. Having VTEC opposed to not having vtec like a B18B vs B18C1 etc is a ginourmous difference.. lol. When VTEC kicks in, you almost lose traction!
