Default should i go with 8lbs fidanza alum fly or 8.7lbs exedy fly? given around same weight....

I've done the search, heard good things about both of these 2 flywheels, but people with exedy would say exedy better, while fidanza owner would say fidanza better.

Is fidanza aluminum fly not as strong as the chrom steel? that's what I've read through the posts.

So given both aluminium and chromoly steel are around the same weight, which one should I go for?

I would get one of these along with Exedy Full race clutch.

thanx for all inputs.

Theres a ton of flywheel info thats been debated in the past...more than enough to help you with your decision. Search under archived topics for "flywheel"

Go Fidanza...light and cheap.

Given the same weight I'd take chromoly.

i dont think u will notice any difference between the two. Everyone is gonna have a different opinion and I think the differences are so minimal you would never know the difference. Just get the lighter one IMO. or save yourself some money and get a CM one at 7.5lbs.

I see a lot of people talk about idle problems with the fidanza, can anyone explain why it would have a problem with idle? No other flywheels that I can think of have had this problem before.

Maybe they talk about it because they have no idea what they're talking about.

No idle issues w/ my Fidanza.

What about the JUN lightwieght flywheels? Hardly ever see anyone talk about these. Im looking for a flywheel in the 9 or 10lb range. And according to there site, it comes in at 4.6kg's.

There also chromoly. But how reliable and duriable are these things compared to other highly praised flywheels out there? Also the price range?

TIA JPratt

I had a CM aluminum FW in my GSR first, then I switched to the Exedy cromaly one.

Right away I noticed how heavy the Exedy one is.
When the time came for me to change the clutch again, I sold my exedy and replaced it with a Fidanza one.

why? i should have stuck with the lighter flyweheel from the beginning....

I had a feeling that it was something else with their car, seems that they really didn't know what they were talking about since no one has had any problems....I wasn't going to say anything since I didn't have any experience with the fidanza set-up. Looks like the one sitting in my room is going on the hatchcrap:

If you have a choice between aluminum and chomoly.... go aluminum. Chromoly warps. Search for article on the web on this.... aluminum = reliability.
