Default Driver Side - No Dome/Seat belt lights.. pass side works fine

In my car the Passenger side door when opened causes the dome light to come on and the little red light on the rear view mirror comes on (seat belts). But none of that works with the drivers side. Any idea what might be wrong?

Also, does anyone know how to check the wiring of the rear defroster to find out why the drivers side defrosts and the passenger side does not...??

On the side of the door where it closes there is like a black "L" shaped switch its held on by one phillips head screw take out the screw and see if there is rust on the contact points(you will see what I mean when you take it off) if there is that is your problem I have had the same problem in my car and it was always that switch I have replaced them before not bad at all to do or if anything you can sand off the rust and that would work also then put some dielectric grease on it to help it from rusting again.
As for the rear defrost check out all the little line and make sure that they are all connected if not there is a kit you can buy at most auto stores to fix it. All you do is basically paint on a new line. Or check where the connector actually connects that could be off or loose.

I'll do that in the morning...

Also, I noticed tonight while I was running my car (just to keep it warm during the snow) That when I closed the passenger door, the light from the rear view would not go off until I turned the car off and back on.. it kept blinking and makeing the buzzing noise.. any Idea what that might be?

I always notice crazy things when my car is really cold. I have had that annoying seat belt warning buzzer keep buzzing then like almost die when it was cold so I wouldnt worry too much about that.

What do you mean the seatbelt light not stopping? You mean the buzzer or does it sit and just flash? Elaborate on it a bit more so that I can help you out.....

OK usually what happens is all you have to do is like touch the red release button (on the seatbelt part) to make it start beeping. Does it only happen when you have the driver side seatbelt on or just whenever? Try just messing with the red release button or completely replace the the thing but otherwise you can do like someone said and disconnect it from under the seat but I would rather have it fixed. I noticed that when my passenger already has their seatbelt on and then I try to put mine on and I like just touch the release button that it starts to beep so just see if it is like pushed in a little (doesnt take much to start beeping) and that might be the problem or like I said try and find a replacement at the junk yard or whatever I would bet that that is your problem though........
