Just curious, max compression for a C5?
I'm just curious, what would be the max (read: safe) compression for a daily driven type-r?!
Max i can get here in Montreal is 92/91
Is Canadian octane the same as the US compromise method?

Compression: I'd say higher then 12.1, not sure.
Daily driven: probably 12.1 would be OK on pump gas....

Even more important than the availability of 93 Octane as opposed to 91 Octane is the tuning involved. Proper setups can run much higher than 12:1 w/ proper tuning on pump gas, and they will still be fairly reliable.

Here in the toronto area and the rest of ontario 94 octane is readily available at sunoco stations, I know of 2 people running around 13:1 CR on there daily drivers. Im surprised that you can not get 94 octane fuel in quebec.
kev, go to petro canada, we get 94 octane!!
so considering that we get 94 octane, you can run 12.1 Cr with the timing set at 14 degree
my car has 11.1 cr and my car was dooing some ping with the 91 octane and timing set at 18. Now its back at 16 and im using 94 ocatne and the car run amazing!

As for Petro-Canada's 94..I've been reading too many bad stories about it, and the addictives that they add in it.
I'd be running 11.5:1..maybe 11.8:1 with CAT Stage 2 Race cams.
kev... 11.91 @ 121 mph.. Only with the 94...
stop read stupid thing about gaz.. and just try it..
if it work for me.. it will work for you
here the only choice it's the petro canada 94 , detonation start with 92 and less

I'm running 11.2:1CR and even though 92 will do the job, I prefer the 94 from Petre-Canada. What bad things have you heard about Petro-Canada? I'm curious since I've been using this gas since I did my motor.

Shane, just from stuff that I've read on MR.com..

But if the P-C 94 is good and safe, then I've got no choice. Thanks Trik/Shane.
