Question about stock SOHC VTEC engine specs
ive looked all threw the forums and couldnt find this answer
im trying to find out the stock vtec activation for a D16Y8 and if its good to stay in VTEC as you shift or if you want to "fall out" of VTEC...someone please help me out...thank you

from a drag racing perspective:
ideally, when you shift you want to stay on the big lobe. if you are falling onto the smaller lobes (less lift & duration) you will be making less power thus (slightly) slower ET's. i used to hold the revs @6K and feather the clutch in my b16 EK so it would launch in VTEC, shifted @8200 and ran a best of 14.9XX @ 90mph w/ only an intake and KumHo's. I dont know when the X-over is on a y8 but you should be able to see, hear, feel the cam switch over.
