you are correct on running 11.99 and quicker until 9.99

 

there is actually alot of stuff needed but not alot of tracks enforce everything...

scatter shield
helmet (duh)
6 point cage
extended wheel studs on front and rear (hardly ever enforced)

 

what cage though? six point four point???????

 

NHRA requires 5 point...

 

entirely depends on the track. for instance, IHRA tracks only require a 5 point cage at 11.49 and faster. NHRA tracks are 11.99 and faster(5 point). both are 8 point @ 9.99 or faster.

 

ok so if u need extended wheel studs then i could not run rotas with my slicks? and who makes a good cage or would it be better to have it custom made?

 

S&W racecars makes a good kit...I think they sell this time of year around $100....here's the kicker....It costs a dump load to get welded in! The cheapest I found to properly weld in a cage is $300(think, its 3x's more than the actual cage)

if u live anywere near dc area i have a guy who can custom fabricate a cage for any car and to any drivers specs... its all legal size steel and he can even get it painted for u. the best part is he will let you watch or even help......oh and he does it in his garage on the weekends, ive helped his two kids out on there two turbo cars(head gaskets, turbo timer installs, etc.) so he's doing mine and ive seen him do three others and his work is great!!!!!!!!!

do most tracks really enforce the scatter shield?????
