does anyone have an idea where this oil leak is coming from?
i mounted my bosch inline pump on the a/c hose just below the battery. actually there were 2 hoses, a thick one and a thin one beside each other so i clamped off both of them.
after 3 damn nights, the fuel leak on the connections on the fuel pump was finally fixed and no leak. this morning, i final check before heading out to work, i was surprised to find some thick oily substance on hose/hose clamp of the inlet of the fuel pump. it's not gasoline since it smell oil and definitely not gasoline so i wipe it off. then this afternoon i transferred to a different parking space and decided to check again, there's the oily stuff again. it doesn't smell like gas, it really smell like oil. i didn't have time and i don't want to get dirty(coz i'm still at work) so i didn't bother to unclamp the pump so i decided to post hoping anyone of you might know or have experienced this. where did that damn oil came from???
my friend told me that it might be freon leak, since freon is like oil too and smell a bit like oil. maybe i broke the something while mounting the fuel pump.
by the way, the car is a 99 SiR.
