cruising@4k rpm.....b18b vs. b18c/c5? same amt. of wear on engine?
Alright, here is my burning question...
if i cruise the freeway with my b18b at 4k rpm, would the amount of stress and wear on the motor essentially be the same as the stress placed on a b18c or b18c5 motor cruising at 4k rpm?
gsr's and r's cruise all day at 4k, so can i do it with my ls and sustain the same amount of wear and tear on the motor. or are the gsr and r motors built in such a way that a considerably less amount of stress is being placed on them as compared to my ls.
sorry if it is a bit confusing....this is something i would really like to know for peace of mind. thanks in advance as well.

I worry about the same. I have a b20 w/ an SI tranny. I would think thee may be a bit more wear because the R/R is a bit worse therefore creating more side load on the sleeves, wearing out the parts sooner.
word. i was thinking about swapping in an r tranny, but would only do so if i was sure my motor could sustain the higher revs.
ive been running my swap for almost a year now. constantly above 4k on the highway-no problems yet.(knock on wood!!) lol
