Simple questions 4 the engine swap Pro's
i'm dropping in a B18b right now and i'm trying to use as many parts possible from my B18c1. Please help me out. I'd prefer to use which ever part will perform better between the B18b <> B18c1 Both of the motors are complete so i can choose to swap which ever parts are necessary.
same set up in my sig minus the b18c1

Re: (InfamousRS)
yeah is there anything even wrong?? ur better off keeping the b18c motor if nothing is wrong. you can also rebuild the motor and use the ls crank and rods then some pistons. also if the b18c block is bad u can do an lsvtec b18b block b18c head.

i need new rings on the b18c. My plan is to pull the b18c out and have it built one part at a time when i get the money. I mean sleeved and all that good stuff. but since im not financially able to follow thru, i figured a $750 b18b would keep me boosting till i finish my gsr build. Also i found out the hard way that the manifolds do not fit. Anything else i should know about? i'm still working on the swap. help please. i dont want to miss anything.

i think $750(after taxes) is a reasonable price for a 35k motor with 6month warranty delivered to my door. the motor is a JDM B18b (not b18b1) If i get this, its best for me to just leave the motor as is and drop it in? All mounts and ect will fit in my 92' Hatch ? I am also mating the b18b with my gsr tranny. I'll think about the LSVTEC conversion kit later. right now im focused on getting the motor to run. I'm very eager to see what numbers i'll be pulling on the dyno. i'll be running the same turbo set up as in my sig. befor burning my rings, i was at 273whp limiting at 6k rpm about 8psi. any guesses on what kind of numbers this motor will pull?

well guys, day 2 of swapping. so far the only issues i've come across is a few sensor clips that i can not find to plug in. i'm using the original wire harness off the b18c1 and this motor is a jdm b18b. i know the vtec sensors would be left off, but what about the other 3 or so? anyone ?????

Re: (supabang)
Could've sent you a JDM B20 for 750 shipped to your door bro...30 day warranty included.
If your under the impression you can boost that motor, blow it up, and then get it warrantied...your highly mistaken.

Re: (RC000E)
from what i recall, a b18 is more likely to handle boost better then a b20 due to the stock sleeves being weak. but yeah. the price is decent and no im not looking to boost the motor and blow it hoping that the warranty covers. im sure everyone on here that boost knows we get no love when it comes to warranty.
ps. still looking for some one that can burn chips... i need at least a base map to start the car and make sure the motor runs
