Default having probs with breaking the 16 sec wall

ok here is my prob i have a 1992 integra my mods are crower 402 cams aem and rsr exhaust prothane complete kit 17" racing hart cp10's now my prob is that no matter how hard i try i cant seem to break 16.2 at 85.0 in the quaater mile. i launch at around 2k to 25k rms so as not to spin the tires my 60's are never less than 2.4 or so during these runs i have taken out the pass seat speaker box and spare. now when i go down track i shift at 7000 and i am just about to pull 4th at the top but never do. so if anyone can tell me how to improve this that would be great. my next thing that i know i need to do is get a valve adjustment and tweak the cam gears a little right now they are set at zero. so again if anyone can help me.

try launching higher also,Your probably bogging a lot.I improved my times by a whole second (from 15.7 to 14.7) the first few times i ever raced.I started launching at 2k rpm and it resulted in bogging and a less then happy 15.7. I raised my launch up to 5krpm and it resulted in a 14.7 with a 2.2 60' on street tires. The 17's won't help much either but they also won't hurt that much.....enough to break into the 15's though....

Launch higher, slip the clutch, and dump the 17's. Theres more to it, but really its all about seat time.
