how long does those 3 puck, 4 puck, 6 puck clutch last?
does it last shorter than the cirular one?

anyone hv tried exedy race clutch? 3 puck metallic....
does its life last shorter or jsut same as the stock one?

 

i had a 3 puck exedy, it was too harsh for street driving and having to feather/ride it for traffic and town driving so the tires wouldnt chirp eventually wore it out and caused it to break in two

 

I have the 6 puck from Exedy and its lasting rather well and that on a stock FW.
I don't mind the pressure it has but I don't like how it grabs in the middle of the pedal and thats from day one

for the price its good but maybe I should have went with the full face, the step lower...

 

oh yeah, i replaced with exedy full face and it worked much better, the 3 puck pedal pressure was double or triple that of the full face

 

so u guys don't recommand the 3 puck exedy right?

Casey - what do you mean by break into 2? the clutch break into 2 piece??

I thought FULL RACE = 3 puck metal?

 

i went with unsprung street disk, looks like regular clutch except no springs, it should last as long as any street disk but if you want more control and want control not at random times, it worked for me, springs get weak or worse break where clutch might be in good condition.

Not recommended for these that do like springs.

 

i think the pressure plate completely broke off of what it was mounted to, due to mis shift

 

oooohh 3puck unsprung = gruesome for daily driver = big NO NO

6puck un sprung = just get used to it. it grabs and is still hard to feather but the feeeling is awesome and seems to last pretty long

i wouldnt go any further than or any less than 6puck unsprung for daily street driven.

i seriously don't understand why 3 puck giving so bad time to drive.

 

the springs that are on the disc. no springs = unsprung, springs = sprung

It makes taking off from a stop quite a task... if you are racing (circuit) you don't hav to worry about that as much vs. sitting in rush hours traffic.

I thought for EXEDY there are only 2 types, one is Sport Clutch, and the other one is 3 puck Race clutch. (for single plate).

 

you want the full face exedy sport clutch, not the 3 puck
