dis 2 or 4 , help tony1 earl ?
Alright Im about to buy the ignition box and im still conffused on which one I need to get im sure the dis 2 will work but it says for 2 coils where as the dis 4 is for 4 coils im obviously gonna be running 4 pro power hvc coils any light guys thanks-pdang .Also on getting rid of the distributor tony ive already talked to you on this one the ac autotechnic cam seal wont fit where the distributor once went the triple cam seal is a little to large in length it seems that all i have to do is shave it abit to get it to fit but anything that has to do with shaving the head is questionable to me . my question is will the factory one fit or do i have to keep my distributor? thanks-pdang

Peter...heres what we are doing. We are running the dis-4, which is the one made for use of 4 coils. They have a high output unit. Make sure you get that one. The stock cam seal will work for plugging the dist. I actually used str cam seals in mine with no problems so that anouther route you can use....Mike

Mike is right, you need the dis-4 HO. As for the cam seal, on the b-series the str and ac ones fit fine in the dist. hole. It they are too long for yours then try the stock honda one. Not the old style that leaks but the new one, the plastic one with the oring. That one is thin and should fit. The box in front of the shifter???? It's a homemade accelerometer that is made to datalog with the motec. We never actually got around to using it, it's not in there anymore.

That was actually the first prototype of the wheel. It was held on by three little screws. It fell off in Sonoma
. We made a much better one that actually bolts onto the cam gear bolts. It doesn't fall off!

All north magnets except one south. The sensor is actually two in one. Normally you have to have two sensors for a sequential ecu, this one does both.
Hey tony have you seen the new distrib model for the speed por suppose to be pretty nice unit as well have you guys tried it out yet.
We actually had a custom distributor fabricated which we will use next year. It uses a much bigger cap to prevent the spark from arcing across the terminals. It is also much slimmer than the factory one. We are going to a different ignition setup next year. We will still run the same trigger we run now but with a distributor. I can't really give all the details now, but if it works the distributors will be for sale. It's a really nice billet piece.
any chance that your also making a h series one hehe hopefull wishing
im gonna try to make it up there either thurs if not friday for sure-pdang

Awesome, I'd be very interested in a good distributor replacement. Distributors can't be all bad, look at top fuel, they use one for each 4 cylinders.
yeah that is a pretty trick setup for the cam sensor... on garys car.. we used the stock distributer for the cam sensor and an ati damper and crank trigger for the crank sensor with a dfi gen 7.. that was so much better to work with...
where can you get the ati dampner at and how did you custom the crank trigger ?
Im not sure but i believe kennys car runs north and south poles so it act as both his cam and crank signal but as tony posted there changing that this season . thanks for the help hopefully they make that pulley for a h series motor-pdang

well.. ati sells the dampener.. i think you can get one through inline pro
our machiest back east set us up with it, and it's funny because the first batch ati made had the #s on the wrong way they didn't put into factor a honda motor spins backwards, so they shipped one to our machinest and he noticed they were wrong, contacted ati... and it turns out they were about to cut a bunch fo rinline pro the wrong way they were like "damn, thanks for pointing that out"...
so once you got that dampener on there it's just a matter of modifying a small block chevy crank trigger setup with some custom brackets.. sorry i have no pics but it's really not that involved
