fyi, ATS lsd for itr fits in ys1 (92-93 gsr tranny) by using itr ring gear... Question on Final Dri
That's right, the ys1 tranny will hold a oem itr lsd by shimming, or ATS LSD (for itr) drops right in. No fuss, no muss. You just have to use the itr ring gear, because the one from the ys1 is the same diameter and same teeth, but the bolts are a little closer to the center...
Now, what about the pinion? What ATS 4.929 final drive pinion would I use with this? 98 spec, I know on the ring gear... But is the pinion the same length?

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks for the info. I will be rebuilding my YS1 as soon as I get out for winter break next week. I have been thinking of what LSD to get, now that i know the OEM ITR LSD will fit I might consider that because of cost.
BTW this is semi-OT, but how much would a YS1 w/no grinds and an ITR LSD go for? Cable of course...

shimming...interesting. The guy i know who has put itr internals into ys1 trannies had to grind away some of the casing (does not hurt structural integrity because this part is missing on the stock itr casing). I'm not specifically sure what part he had to grind though, i've yet to see any pics.

.....Yes, you are correct. Grinding away some of the casing inside to accommodate the itr lsd is required. The ATS itr lsd dropped right in, however.
BUT, the speed sensor won't fit down in there - so now the speedo and odo don't work.
doh!
