Cusco 5.0 Final Drive?
Anyone have anymore info on this product? Anyone using it with their Type R Tranny? What RPM's would I be at crusing at highway speeds>... ???? Comments and Reviews are welcome....

I don't have any personal/direct experience with this particular 5.0 FD kit...but common sense would tell me that it would have more of an aggressive accerleration factor in comparison to the 4.785 ITR FD. And of course the 5th gear crusing RPM's are going to be couple rpm's higher ....depending on which 5th gear you go with. I'd say add about 300-400rpms more with a 5.0 FD.

wow, that's crazy! Probably not a good idea for a daily driver that sees a decent amount of freeway time. I've never actually seen a Cusco final drive, but have heard they're not the strongest. I have heard a few horror stories about the ATS losing teeth as well, although it looks like a quality unit

I would say the cursing RPM won't be that much difference than the ATS 4.929 one. Get whichever you can find a better price on or easier for you!!
And I broke a Cusco FD before (4.714 one), but it was my fault!!

there is only "1" person that has broken the ats final drive
i have heard from mike and others that the cusco is not as strong
i love my ats fd. it really makes the car fun as heck to drive

Some guy is selling a ITR tranny with stock LSD and the Cusco 5.0 final drive for about $1200US. He says no grinds and shifts nice. It was imported from Japan. What do you guys think? Relaible or not??? Also say the final drive gets broken will the tranny be screwed or is it a matter or installing a new final drive??

I'd hit it!
If the FD goes out you have a 50/50 chance of f'in up the rest of the tranny....

not a bad deal at all...if the guys not being shady about it.
