Default problem with vtec...

ok, I tried using the search function but it's a little late and I think searching through 11 pages is enough. Anyway, I was just taking out the intake on the R to convert it back to stock. Everything was fine, put it on okay no problems. Right after I was done, I just parked it in the garage. Today I decided to take it out, and when I tried to get into vtec, it didn't sound like it was hitting. I checked oil temp, and it was at the normal temp. When looking at the RPM's, I could see the RPM's increase quicker as if it were in vtec. But just no vtec sound, it made the same sound that the engine makes when your trying to hit vtec with the oil temp low. I just don't know what's wrong or what I should check, any help would be great.

thanks.

it is likely working and just a LOT quieter than you are used to. VTEC with stock airbox is barely audible.

thats what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure. Because I heard people talking about the "sound" vtec makes. But you can barely hear it now...but I can feel it..

Here's a quick and easy check to eliminate your worries - remove the stock air box cover and take your R for a test drive. It will be very obvious whether or not it's working. The changeover will be clearly audible with this configuration.

I'm prettys sure it was always a non issue though!
