Ok I thought I knew how to reset my ecu but one my friends is telling me that it is the wrong way. Will someone please tell me the correct way to reset the ecu.

 

Pull the negitive off the battery for 10-15min. Or pull the fuse for the ecu for 10-15min. While doing this you might want to flash your highbeams for brake pedal to make sure all the charge is out of the system.

 

There are lots of ways.

Unplug the ecu from the harness.
Remove the negative cable from battery.
Remove some fuse -don't know which-

Or cut the engine harness, and re-wire it back together when you're ready. I don't recommend that..

It doesn't matter how you reset it..

 

haynes manual says remove the backup fuse from the engine compartment fuse box for like 10 seconds

 

remove the negative battery cable.
