I recently installed a Vafc in my 01 R and my vtec does not seem to be kicking in. I was wondering if there is a way that maybe it is turned off through the vafc. I did a search and read the directions but they are very vague on what to do. On the one screen it says that VTi is off, could this be my problem? Any help would be great.

 

no you leave that off.vti on off. when i hooked my v-afc i had the same
problem it wouldn't engage. i didn't hook up the vtm wire double check
to make sure all the wires are hooked up.

Any other possibilites before I rip the ecu out, settings etc...

 

Check all the wires and make sure they are together fine. Did you solder or did you just tap into the wires? Did you make sure you got the wires touching and not the rubber. 99% of the time its the install.

 

also make sure you have it set to 6 sensors.
