Default can u pass emissions with a exhuast leak.

i have a leak from where the manifold meets the cat. will i pass emssions?

I had the same problem. My stock cat-back was rusted had a little hole. I bought some exhaust tape (at pepboys) and fixed the leak. Just go to you local auto parts and get it. They have it in tape or clay. It works good

No one's even answered the question yet. I don't know for sure but I'd maybe say no. Because it's leaking before it gets to the cat/muffler which makes you pass emissions in the first place. Again I'm not sure but, there's only one way to find out huh?

actually, i'm thinking u could since the probe goes in the exhaust canister and how would they know you have an exhaust leak?

i passed with a leak in my old camry a few years back...the leak was bad too.

it really depends upon how strict the limitations are in the state that you reside in. colorado ya you'd pass no problem, east coast from boston to richmand probably not. la definitely not. hope that answers your question but remember it is only an opinion. i don't work at the emissions testing plants for the dmv so you could say that i ma not a expert, but who friggin cares
