Cam Test Thread? Can someone point me the right direction.
I have seen posts on various occasions that a cam comparison test was conducted sometime in the past, similar to the intake shootout and so on....
I have searched under everything I could think of with no success finding this thread. Could someone kindly enough post up the link if there was such a test. I would really like to read it!
Thanks all!

I am sure that there are other comparisons out there, but these came to mind quickly.

Sorry, I don't recall such a specific thread, myself.
But cams, like so many other engine components, are something you should choose based on your own requirments (such as how much power you need to make, what kind of modifications you intend to perform ultimately and how you intend to use the engine realistically) rather than what somebody else recommends.
There are so many variables involved with such a definitave engine component as cams that it would be impossible for any test, no matter how objective, to cover them all. Perhaps you should ask a more specific question about what kind of cams/grinds would allow your engine to perform the way you need it to given the setup you will, or want to, have.

There were one or two threads on the H-T ITR section where Mike K put a series of cams through a fairly stock and a modified ITR motor. In both cases he tuned all of the set-ups.
One of the revelations was that the use of a JUN II intake cam, by itself, produced as much HP as a pair of Toda A's for half the money.

I am on somewhat of a budget when it comes to the car, and a nice, reliable, inexpensive power adder is right up my alley. I don't need 200+ horsepower for anything, just something to make the car have a little more kick. I would prefer the car to stay with a stock idle, bottom end etc. I think my goal is pretty realistic and basic.
One more favor to ask. Could someone familiar with the setup fill me in with the parts needed. Cam gears? Upgraded timing belt? Is the stock valve train good enough for this setup? Etc.....
Thanks a bunch you guys!
B19 - Thanks for the links! Good reading!
MK - I should have been more specific. But I described in short what I wanted in the post above. Thank you as well for the post. Overall, I don't want to go to anything too entailed. Just something with close to stock reliability, but more get up and go. Thats asking a lot I know, and if it isn't possible, then stock power will be enough for me to still enjoy the car!
Thanks again!

....you want something "mild" eh?
I will recommend jun stage 2, toda spec a, or skunk stage 1...
Those are nice and mild, yet an improvement over stock. I predict high 180whp/ low 190whp depending on your other mods and tuning. lf you raise compression, you'll be knocking on 200+whp.
