If it is 4 ohm then you need 2 of them, run them parallel and it will be a 2 ohm load.

dual voice coil speaker.
dual voice coils r double the ohms. for instance if its a 2ohm dvc then its 4 ohms. if its 4dvc then its a 8 ohms. and im not sure if a mono amp will work. i believe u will have to go with a 2 channel not a single mono. correct if im wrong. im running 2 12inch 4ohm dvc.

just take the positive from each voice coil and run it to the positive on the amp, then do the same with the negatives
bam, 2 ohms

incorrect...you the final resistance depends whether or not the coils are wired in series or parallel. if the coils are wired in series then you add the resistance. if they are in parallel the resistance would be 1/total resistance = 1/(load 1) + 1/(load 2) and so in depending how many loads you have

yea ... to make that easier wire each side of the speaker + and - as 2(two) speakers and run them to your amp(bridged) that should do it.

ok so ya'll are saying that if i wire my speaker like to seperate speakers that i should be all right. i was talking with a friend at school and he said that i might could take it to an audio shop and they could drop it to 2 ohms. i am new to this but i havent ever heard of anyone doing this. but if what ya'll are telling me will work than i will just stick to that.
