For the past few days, a lot of rattling has been coming from underneath the car...sounds like from the cat. It's as if there's a marble/pebble loose in there. It's mainly audible at about 1500rpm. Is my cat done? If so, that sucks...only had it for half a year!

Check all the bolts on the connections. They rattle when they are not tight enough.

 

I'll check the bolts once I get a chance. I did a search just now and seems like these cats have this problem.

I remember when I had a pebble stuck in my muffler.

 

could possibly be the heatsheild/sound deadener if you still have it on there.

 

Nope...don't have a heatshield.

i had that sound with my cat before. the sound got worse and worse and i thought i killed the cat. but when we raised the car we saw that the cat was unhooked from the exhaust. so that might be it but mine was weilded. so if yours is weilded on you might need to do that again. if its a bolt on then your gonna need to tighten the bolts. but raise the car, have a friend inside (to hit the gas), and see if you could find the problem.
