Just picked some up from the dealership, paid like $15 for them but now they won't fit. It seems that the thread that holds the license plates in is pushed too far back, any way to move them forward?

Well, I tried to pry them forward using a screw driver but I just pushed them further back, it looks like I need to take the front bumper off... ?

 

i was hoping i wouldnt have to take off the bumper!

Just use a spot of silicone.

 

And apply the silicone to what?

 

the back of the plug. Just use the Silicon like glue.

 

Just ask, they should give them for free. At least I did, from the Honda dealer.

 

Remove the bumper and on the backside of the holes you will see two triangular shaped pieces. Sometimes the clips that hold them come loose because they just sort of push on and little teeth grab the plastic tabs. Put your hand on the outside of the bumper and hold pressure. With your other hand get a pair of needle nose plyers and push on the back side of the bumper clip. Be careful but it does work, hope this helps.
