They're the same thread size, different length.

The oil drain plug is shorter than the tranny plug, but you *should* get the oil plug to fit in the tranny.

I wouldn't do this, if you loose lubricant, you break things. Your call.

There should already be a magnet in the Transmission oil reservior. Most cars have them to catch metal shavings. You wouldnt be able to clean it out unless you dropped the cover.

Yes, don't buy the overpriced ones. A magnet is a magnet.

Yes, there are magnetic drain plugs with the 14 x 1.5 thread size. The bolt head is 14mm instead of 17mm but makes no difference. It costs about $4 each and fit both the transaxle and engine oil pan. Pay 10X and be bling bling Spoon if you like.

There is already a magnet in the transmission anyway. See (5)

Too bad you're never gonna see the thing unless you're an ant or roadkill.

that's weird, my spoon plugs were longer for the oil drain and shorter for the tranny case..

The Napa plug looks like it will hit the gear inside the tranny.....I had mytranny off when I checked it, but it does not hit.
