I purchased the skunk2 camber kit for my 98 Civic 7 months ago for $202 shipped.
I put my LX back to stock and sold all the parts. When I took the skunk2 kits off I noticed the black rubber around the ball joint was torn on one side on both control arms. Here are some pics.
What do you guys think?
It's just what you see. The other side of the rubber piece is fine.
Quality? I'm not saying it's not just asking what you guys think. Anyway to prevent this when I get a kit for my Eg hatch
THe red stuff inside the rubber piece is automotive grease for the ball joint

I was dropped about 2.5" on Ground Controls / Bilstein Hd's.
Not sure what you mean? But, they were on the correct sides. They are marked with HUGE letters and I'm not even sure if they would work if mounted on the opposite side. Is that what you are asking?
Were the arms swapped left and right?
Hybrid,
Call Group A and ask them if they will warranty it because they did with mine and gave me a "revised balljoint." Go to this link and find more information about it there.

The guy who claims swap left for right and right for left. Means you will have a more positive CASTER. Your wheel will be sitting more forward. Alignment shops would think your car is seriously bent. Not really necessary to do this especially for a street application. If you are doing this to enhance your car on the track, learn how to drive "as is" before you go down that route.

Migs,
I didn't buy my Skunk2 kit from Group A, is it OK to still call them??? Because I think I am going to have a problem very soon. It sounds like mine are making "knocking noises" when I turn.
Can you give the number to call??
Thanks

Group A should still cover it. I didnt buy mine from them either. That click or knock noise is your balljoint fuggled up already. Dont ride on it too long, can wear out your tires to a point where you might have to replace em.

Debating if I want to go with skunk2 again up front. I bought mine from jdmparts or jdmhondaparts, whatever place it is and they had the WORST customer sevice ever
Maybe you guys had better luck with them.
Now that I read the thread in the link above I see you went directly through skunk2 and not a seller
May have changed my mind
But, I highly doubt I'll buy from jdmparts!

i just ordered parts from Jdmhondaparts.com what did they do that was so bad?
another sad story about skunk2 a-arms.
anyone using the spc ball-joint camber kit? looks like it would get the job done without being intrusive, but i haven't heard an overwhelming ammount of info on the quality.

so that knocking sound is the rubber joint about to go? wow i have only had mine on for 2 months.
That's also dry rot. When you get new booties, either spray them with white lithium grease or rub some Vasoline on them every 10,000 miles or so and you won't have that problem again.
Side note- do this with the CV boots and they'll outlast the car.

on a side note, how are you guys adjusting caster? i don't want to swap the arms. I guess i will just have to get a set of teins with the caster plate.

Yes, Hondas do not have FACTORY adjustments for CAMBER and CASTER. ONLY Toe.
Auto Specialty is the ONLY company that I am aware of that makes a CASTER adjustment for Honda's. Its a pain in the rear to adjust. If you come to a shop like mine, Im only going to charge you $59.99 regardless if my mechanic is sitting under your car for 20 minutes or 3 hours.
$59.99 will buy you adjustment of camber, caster and toe.
That knocking noise you are hearing is your balljoint already seperated. A torn boot would only lead to losing all your grease and eventually rotting bone dry.\
If you look at the link above, the balljoint is NOW one piece vs 2 pieces being held together by an E/C clip.

i thought the longer bolt and washers adj. camber in the rear? i had the ingalls camber kit in the front. it worked fine and didn't wear out at all. i had the ingalls rear camber kit also but it squeeked so much because of the bushings. so i removed it and shimmed the rear with washers and the longer bolts.

As far as JDMhonda parts when I ordered the skunk2 kit I asked for instructions to install the kit (none were included) and they told me to refer to a shop manual. The process is simple (I found out on my own) and would of took them 5 minutes to e-mail me instructions. Things like that will have people giving you the
where if they would of told me how to do it I would of gave them the
So,
to jdmhondaparts for me!
