Thanks Skunk2, upgraded balljoints for Camber arms.
Remember a few weeks ago, I had broken a balljoint after a pretty conservative canyon run? The ball joint seperated where the "C" clip holds it intact.
Well, a few of you had thought that my car is slammed and Im bottoming out in the inner upper fender well. That is not that case because my Skunk arms show NO signs of wear or rubbage against the chassis.
Anyway, to sum it up. Ive been working with Pete, Jennifer and Jim up at Group A. They have come to the conclusion to warranty my balljoints with the LATER revised balljoint. (That should answer the balljoint shortage theory). Going by Jim's description, it sounds more sturdier and hopefully prevent this kind of problem.
They just got the balljoints today in their warehouse and I should be receiving it tomorrow in time for Streets of Willow event this Thursday.
Ill snap a few pictures to compare the earlier and later design. All I have to say is that Im really satisfied withe their customer service. I will continue to use and support their products at any event, meet, or board I visit.
Thanks Skunk2 for the awesome customer service.

I was really interested in buying the Skunk2 arms till I heard of their slipping and then your most recent mishap....

RA,
Also, Im thinking about replacing the bolts that hold the balljoint intact to adjust and prevent from sliding. They come with allen head bolts. I really cant find an allen wrench long enough to put leverage in the tightening process.
I havent experienced any slippage. Knock on wood. I think a bolt head that could accomodate a wrench or socket would hold better than the Allens.
Like mama always said "dont replace it if it aint broke." Ill ride on these until I experience anything ackward.

Finally, my Skunk2 balljoint situation has been completely taken care of by the staff of Group A Autosports. I will have to say I am EXTREMELY satisfied with their customer service.
You can tell from the picture that the design is alot more sturdier. Good job GroupA

Here is a pic of mine after 6 months and all 3 look the same to me
The one on the RIGHT, is obviously the older version. The older balljoitn can be SEPERATED from that thick metal piece. The only thing that holds it in place is a TINY WEAK E/C clip.
E/C clips are very effective. But when you have SLACK in the area that clip is supporting, its not so effective. Becuase when there is PLAY, it creates a banging back and forth motion and eventually breaking/seperating.
Not sure if that made sense but the the measurements of which the E/C clip has to be in, has to be precise with NO play.

i just got my skunk2 camber kit (no intsalled yet) and it has the balljoint on the right that failed you. is there some sort of recall on these ball joints w/ the thin c-clips or do i have to wait for it to break.
That, I dont know. I would take it up with Skunk2/Group A. I honestly doubt they will warrant every old balljoint out there.
