Q: replacing fuel pump
alright..just got my bosch fuel pump. i was told by many here that you need to take out the fuel tank to replace the pump. However, i was looking @ some pics of stripped crx as well as helms..it seems like you can replace it w/ the back seat (whatever you wanna call that thingy) removed. now...what do you recommand? drop the tank and replace it from there?

Jeff-
the pump is in the left rear corner of the tank. you must drop the tank to access it. whats under the back seat is the sending unit, not the pump.

since i did it just a week ago ill make a quick how-to.
1. disconnect battery
2. back seat area - remove the cover on the sending unit - 3 screws - this will give it slack - and unplug the wire harness
3. jack car up - put on jack stands
4. drain fuel if you dont want it to get everywhere - bolt located on bottom rear left corner of tank
5. remove splash shield cover to the left of the fuel tank - you will see fuel lines once it's off
6. use a jack to support the fuel tank
7. unscrew the 2 tank straps - just the rear side - 12mm
8. lower the tank - keep an eye on the wire at the rear of the tank so it doesnt snag - you should now be able to see the the fuel pump on the rear left side
9. there are 2 lines to the pump - remove one fuel line at the pump (dont lose the washers) and follow the metal fuel line to a rubber hose - remove the rubber hose
10. unbolt all the 10mm nuts - pull out the pump.
11. replace pump and strainer (self explanatory)
12. reverse order - done
