Default Proper way to "Jdmify" clears?

I just attempted to paint my clears amber for that ghetto-jdm look. I cleaned them thoroughly, then sprayed the translucent paint and fish-eyes galore. Looks like hell. Just bought another set of clears and the paint, someone clue me in on how to make the paint adhere properly?

First things first:
-Take corners out
-Tape up the edges so you dont get over spay on the black parts
-Wash the outside lense clean
-lightly sand with sand paper, im not sure what grit I used i just know it was really light
-Get all sanding excess off the lense
-Spray a coat of the Kylon Stainded Glass Paint Over the corners
-Lights coats
-I did two coats on mine, Do more if you want them darker
-Let dry over night
-Reinstal corners

thats what i found when i seacrh it awhile ago
did u follow those steps ?

Like they said, give them a good cleaning...sanding is only needed if the signal is very rough.
Spray them with a non metal surface primer(clear)give them 2 -3 very light coats.
Within 3-4 minutes spray them with your choosen paint, make sure you spray a few thin coats instead of a heavy coat to avoid runs and drips....I sprayed mine
3-4 times to reach my desired shade.
Let them dry for at least 4 hours...........Serve and enjoy

I gave mine about 3-4 coats, just used light coats.
I sanded them with like a 320grit sandpaper first, then wiped them down and sprayed
